The Midnight Alchemist uses AI to create personal reflection text and insights, and to transcribe spoken entries when you use that feature. OpenAI receives selected information you choose to provide, such as Identity Audit answers and relevant journal context, to perform those tasks. Generated material may be inaccurate or unsuitable and is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. You are interacting with software, not a human professional.
Some earlier app versions used ElevenLabs to create a voice model from a separately consented sample and to turn Ritual text into audio. We are retiring that path for the new paid offer. A voice model or provider log created earlier does not disappear merely because a new app version stops using it. Ask for “Voice deletion” at support@themidnightalchemist.com if you want that history reviewed and removed where possible.
In version 1.0.9, new personal Rituals are text, and you can choose to listen to them through your phone's speech function. Voice Signature is not included. In that version, Listen uses your phone's own speech voice to read the text aloud. The app does not save that audio, and pressing Listen does not send the Ritual to ElevenLabs, Cartesia or Inworld for synthesis. The text may already have been sent to OpenAI to generate the Ritual. Earlier versions can behave differently until updated.
We do not use members' content to train a model ourselves. Supplier retention and training settings are governed by their own contracts and account settings; we do not claim zero data retention. AI may generate errors, inappropriate content or false impressions of certainty. Do not rely on it in a crisis.
